As a new yr resolution, i am going to trouble others by asking them read my blog.I am not sure how frquently i would update the same but thought let me get going with this.
Recently, i started receiving message from an anonymous number wishing me on all occasions. Occasions meaning new year, diwali like these. The first time i didn't reply back thinking it must have been wrongly sent. However, when i started receiving messages on every occasion from the same number, i became little bit curious to know who that was.I called that number and was acutally suprised to hear from them. It was one of the family members to whom i had donated blood.Rather platlets.
Since my blood group is of the rarer kinds, i generally don't go for voluntary donations. Whenever a need arises, I do whatever is required. And most of the times its only blood donation and once that is done,there ends the story.
That particular time, i went to the hospital thinking it was an usual blood donation for a 4-yr old child. However, there they told me that it was platlets donation. Platlet donation is a little bit different from blood donation and takes around 3-4 hours as well. Initially, i was a bit hesitant to go for it as i had never done that before. However, after deciding to help someone out, i thought it was pretty bad to back out at the last moment. I went ahead with the donation. Once the procedures were completed, the family thanked me and i left the place feeling happy.
Generally, once the donation part is over, there's no contact with any of the family members.However, this particular time, the family called me once the child got well and was discharged from the hospital. They even called me up for some homam @ their place.
It acutally feels nice when you get to know that you have helped someone out and they are really appreciative of that.When i got their message on new year's eve, i felt happy about their gesture . This made my new year's eve.
